Redner's employee shot in Camden, unknown suspect at large

Redner's employee shot in Camden, unknown suspect at large

Update: Police have arrested a person in connection with the shooting of a Camden Redner’s employee, Camden Police Chief Marcus Whitney said Thursday afternoon.

CAMDEN  — A Redner's Warehouse Markets employee was shot by an unknown male who entered the store Tuesday, Camden Police Chief Marcus Whitney said.

According to chief Whitney, police received an incident call 5:51 p.m.  The store is located at 2500 S. Dupont Highway.

The suspect left the store after the shooting and remained at large, Chief Whitney said.

The victim was "conscious, breathing and alert," when transported to Bayhealth Hospital, Kent Campus in Dover, Chief Whitney said.

At 7:15 p.m. police reported the victim was in stable condition.

Chief Whitney said the suspect was reportedly wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with black pants or jeans. 

According to Chief Whitney, Redner's corporate office was working to provide surveillance video from inside and outside the store.

A Delaware State Police helicopter was seen above the location at around 7 p.m. and multiple law enforcement agencies were on the scene.
