Reba V. (Hoover) Dunkleberger, 70

MAGNOLIA - Reba V. Dunkleberger, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, Aug. 16, 2009, in Kent General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was 70. Mrs. Dunkleberger was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Somerset County, Pennsylvania. She attended Ferndale School System in Johnstown, Pa. She graduated from Maison Felix Beauty School in Pittsburgh, Pa. Mrs. Dunkleberger was a licensed cosmetologist in the State of Pennsylvania for 52 years. She served as a military wife for 28 faithful years, allowing her husband to serve the nation. Mrs. Dunkleberger enjoyed knitting, crocheting, crafts and was an avid NASCAR, Jeff Gordon fan. She loved her boxer dogs and most of all, being with her grandchildren. Mrs. Dunkleberger was preceded in death by her mother, Ruby Johnston Hoover; and sister, Shirley Hoover Yoder. She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Robert J. Dunkleberger; her son, Robert J. Dunkleberger II and his wife Gail; two daughters, Donna J. Jones, and Linda A. Hawkins and her husband Dale; two brothers, Earl Hoover and Albert "Abbie" Hoover; five grandchildren, Courtney and Matthew Hawkins, Daniel and Kevin Dunkleberger, and Nicholas Jones; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 21, at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call two hours prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Kent County SPCA, 34 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934; or the March of Dimes; or any Boxer Rescue.
