DOVER - Reba Mae Clifton, of Dover, passed away Sat., Feb. 26, 2011, in the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. She was 85. Mrs. Clifton was born February 24, 1926, in Brazil, Ind., to the late Otto and Ocie (Thomas) Sawyer, the youngest of eight children. She worked as a crossing guard for Dover Schools, then in Jello production at General Foods in Dover for 26 years. She was active in Lifestyles Fitness for over 20 years, and a member of the People's Church of Dover. Reba was a dedicated wife and loving mother. She enjoyed traveling with her husband of 59 years, Herbert Clifton, and especially loved their trips to Hawaii. Reba cherished family. She was proud of her children, and loved to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandson. Reba also made time to stay connected with her extended family, in Indiana and around the Country. She will be dearly missed by her loving family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by two sons, Laurence Clifton of Courtland, Va., and Kenneth Clifton and his wife Janice of Wilmington; two daughters, Shirley Bellois and her husband Philip, and Nancy Van Sant and her husband Levin, all of Felton; four grandchildren, Michelle and Brian Bellois, and Kimber and Michael Van Sant; one great grandson, Zachary Powell; and numerous nieces and nephews in Indiana. Funeral services will be held at Noon, Wed., March 2, 2011, in the Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt. 10), Dover, Del. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Delaware Hospice, 911 S. DuPont Hwy., Dover, DE 19901.
