FELTON - Raymond William Sheridan, Sr. of Felton passed away with his family by his side, Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at Kent General Hospital. He was 71. Mr. Sheridan was born November 11, 1942 in Dover, Delaware to the late Patrick Sheridan and Letitia Biddle Cann. He was a farmer and had also worked as a mechanic for Firestone as well as being a handyman, carpenter and truck driver. Mr. Sheridan bred beagles and enjoyed rabbit hunting and playing music with his band "Raymond Sheridan's Gospel Side", where they had recorded a CD. He was a lifelong member of the Eastern Shore Blue Grass Association. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Edward Cann; and brother, James T. Moore. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Clara Holden Sheridan of Felton; sons, Ernie Halcomb and wife Beth of Dover, Raymond W. Sheridan, Jr. and his wife Beth of Felton; stepsons, Steven Shehorn of Felton, Michael Shehorn and his wife Nicole of Magnolia; daughters, LaDonna Lewis and her husband William "BJ" of Harrington, Helen Banks and her husband Ron of Felton; stepdaughter, Christal Greenly and her husband Rick of Camden; brother, Lee Sheridan and his wife Elneda of Frederica; sister, Mary Pat Cox of Felton; sixteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904 to help defray funeral expenses.
