MILFORD - Raymond McKee died Friday, Aug. 30, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. He was born in Chester, Pa. on Dec. 21, 1941, son of the late John James and Edith Roberts McKee. Mr. McKee joined the US Army, serving in Vietnam. Mr. McKee worked for Con Agra, as a purchasing agent for fourteen years and O.A. Newton in Bridgeville for 25 years. After retiring, he drove a bus for Edgar Mills and Son Transportation, one of his bus routes was for Sussex Technical High School. He enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and NASCAR racing, his favorite driver being Tony Stewart. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family. His family was his life. He loved spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is the last of five siblings, whom preceded him in death, two brothers Pat and Wayne; and two sisters, Shirley and Sue. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Elma and their children, Ronald McKee and his wife Deanna and Elma Vanaman and her husband Charles; their grandchildren, Lorin Stephens and her husband Chad, Emily Coverdale and her husband Allen, Brianne Mitchell and her boyfriend Josh Scott, Garrett McKee, Beth Vanaman and her fiancé Josh Wagner; he has three great-grandchildren, Austin Scott, Alleigh Coverdale, and Morgan Wagner; one aunt, Dorothy Perryman; and a special niece, Kitty Correia and her family. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 8 at the Carlisle Fire Company, 615 NW Front Street, Milford.
