MILFORD - Ray W. Dodd, 85, of Milford passed away Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at home. He was born on Dec. 11, 1924 in Milton, to the late Warren and Amanda Donovan Dodd. Ray graduated from Milton High School, Class of 43. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Butler during World War II. He owned Ray's Clover Farm in Milton. In 1986, he retired from Southern States in Milford. He was a member of Grace Church in Milton, Golden Rule Odd Fellows Lodge, V.F.W., the American Legion Post #20 and was a Masonic mason. Painting was Ray's favorite hobby. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Hazel Webb Dodd; son, David Ray Dodd and his wife Dot; daughter, Donna Kay Dodd; grandsons, David Harry Dodd and Richard W. Cook, II; granddaughter, Jeannie Dodd Blakeslee; great-grandchildren, Jerry Blakeslee, Kayra Edmonds, Emili Cook, Hannah Blakeslee and Amanda Blakeslee. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call Sunday night from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
