Ray E. Donaway Jr., 79 BERLIN, Md. - Ray E. Donaway Jr., 79, of Berlin, died Monday, Feb. 8, 2010, at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. He was born in Whaleyville, Md., and was the son of the late Ray E. Sr. and Charlie Elizabeth Hollaway Donaway. He had been a carpenter for many years. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion Post 123 in Berlin and the National Rifle Association. He is survived by his longtime companion, Margie McBane of Berlin and her son Bill McBane; two sons, Randy Donaway and his wife Merry of Ridgely, Md., and Lynn Donaway of Frederica, Del.; three daughters, Sue D. Holloway and her husband Calvin of Whaleyville, Md., Barbara D. Wingate of Parsonburg, Md., and Lori Denkenberger and her husband Eddie of Frederica; and the mother of his children, Swazanne Donaway of Frederica. He also has five grandchildren, Tracy, Cal, Tom, Kim, and Mandi, and four great-grandchildren. A graveside service will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 13, at Dale Cemetery in Whaleyville. At Ray's request no flowers but donations to Dale Cemetery, c/o Herman Truitt, 11517 Dale Road, Whaleysville, MD 21872. Condolences may by sent by visiting www.hastingsfuneralhome.net.
