Ralph 'Bo' Palmer
NEW PORT RICHEY, Fla. - Ralph "Bo" Palmer was born Jan. 11, 1933, in Hazelton, Pa., and grew up in Hampton, Va. He passed away Oct. 12, 2009. After graduating from Hampton High School he immediately joined the United States Air Force. Bo served two tours of duty in Vietnam, a tour in Cam Rahn Bay and another in Tan Son Nhut and retired as a Senior Master Sgt. in 1972. Shortly there after; Bo started his second career and worked for 15 years for the Campbell Soup Company in Camden N.J. Bo enjoyed being on the Rhein-Main A.F.B. all star bowling team as he was able to travel through out Europe bowling against other Military Installations. Bo also enjoyed the annual reunion of the 7406 Support Squadron, to honor the aircrew of 60528 "his" plane a C-130 Spooky which was shot down by the Russians over Armenia on September 2, 1958 when Bo and his crew were stationed in Incirlik Air Base in Turkey. Bo is survived by his children, Ralph 3rd, Larry, Eddie, all of Ft. Myers, Fla., Ronald, Ramona, both of Cape Coral, Fla., and Mary of Morganton, N.C. Memorial services are being conducted by VFW Post 7987, New Port Richey, at the Dobies Funeral Home, 4910 Bartlet Road, Holiday, FL. on Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009 at 2 pm. Bo's final resting place will be the Florida National Cemetery for Veterans in Bushnell, Fla. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to VFW Post 7987 located at 7445 Chester McKay Dr., New Port Richey, FL 34655.
