HARRINGTON - Ralph L. Bright, 87, of Harrington, passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at home. Mr. Bright was born in Harrington, the son of the late Archie and Nettie (VanSant) Bright, Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in Okinawa, Japan during W.W. II. He worked in maintenance for the City of Baltimore Water Department for several years. He enjoyed watching the old time westerns on T.V. in his spare time. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Bernadette "Bernie" Bright in 2004; two brothers, George W. Bright and Archie Bright, Jr.; and a nephew, George R. Bright. He is survived by a special niece, Mollyann Scheufele; two nieces, Phyllis Crabbe and Brenda Belschner; and two nephews, Archie Bright III and Paul Bright; as well as several great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at the McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, 50 Commerce Street, Harrington where viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. Burial will be in Hollywood Cemetery, Milford - Harrington Highway, Harrington. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
