Ralph 'Jim' Hurd, 81

MILFORD -- Ralph "Jim" Hurd of Milford passed away Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, in Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 81. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Hurd, Clarence Hurd and Arthur Hurd; a sister, Susie Webber; and a grandson, Jeffrey Williams. He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Charlotte Hurd; five daughters, C. Ann Lockerman and her husband John of Dover, Barbara Sue Meredith and her husband Jerry of Milford, Ruth J. McDonald of Milford, Ellen L. Morris of Canterbury and Brenda Kay Engel and her husband William of Felton; four sisters, Julia Thorpe of Magnolia, Pearl Cahall of Florida, and Martha Allen and Mary Ann Simmons, both of Dover; eight grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren. Services were Wednesday at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming. Burial was in Sharon Hills Memorial Park.
