DOVER - R. Benton Blythe "Ben" passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2017 at the Delaware Hospice Center. Mr. Blythe was born Sept. 29, 1943 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada to the late A. Benton Blythe and Helen Bushfield Blythe. He worked as an IT Systems Manager for heavy equipment companies in Alberta, Arizona, and California. Mr. Blythe enjoyed reading classic books, watching the Baltimore Orioles, Alabama Football and the Montreal Canadians, playing cribbage, and traveling while health permitted. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Darcy Blythe. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lynda Titus Blythe, of Dover; brother, Trevor Blythe, of Brampton, Ontario, Canada; and sister, Laurel (Bob) Caddel, of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; as well as nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews in Canada, the U.S. and U.K. Private services will be held at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover. Interment will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg, Pa., at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Faithful Friends Animal Society, a private non-profit animal welfare organization with a No Kill shelter serving Delaware, 12 Germay Drive, Wilmington, DE 19804.
