Question of the Day: Student lunch debt

Here is the Question of the Day:

A Smyrna man is raising money to assist students paying off lunch balances in the Smyrna School District. His effort in 2019 resulted in approximately $5,500 donated. Similar issues abound in 2023, and the $1,100 raised went directly to student cafeteria debt. Plus, a Townsend sixth grader launched her own fundraiser to aid students with lunch balance struggles, giving $1,300 to her school. If not every student’s family can afford school lunches, what’s a long-term solution?
