Two arrested on drug-dealing charges in Dover

DOVER — A Cambridge, Maryland, man and a Felton woman were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Saturday, Dover police said.

The investigation began when an officer on patrol observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation at East Loockerman Street and South DuPont Highway, spokesman Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid said.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, Matthew Moyers, 31, and the passenger, Tiffany Pendexter, 33.

An investigation determined that Ms. Pendexter had a warrant for her arrest, and she was taken into custody without further incident, Cpl. Schmid said. She was found in possession of drug paraphernalia, he added.

Officers also located 140.8 grams of meth during a vehicle search, police said, and Mr. Moyers was taken into custody without further incident.

Mr. Moyers was charged with possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of drug paraphernalia and second-degree conspiracy. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, on $21,500 secured bail.

Ms. Pendexter was charged with second-degree conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity, possession of a controlled substance in a Tier 3 quantity and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was released on $6,500 unsecured bail.
