Police: Shots fired in Dover's Capital Green neighborhood

DOVER — Investigation into a shots fired incident Monday in the Capital Green neighborhood is ongoing, Dover Police said.

According to spokesperson Master Cpl. Ryan Schmid, police received a call for several shots fired in the 400 block of East Water Street at approximately 2:01 p.m.

Officers arrived at the scene, police said, and it was determined that three to four Black male suspects exited a vehicle and began shooting at a parked vehicle that was occupied. The suspects then fled in a white SUV, police said.

The person sitting in the vehicle that was shot also fled the area prior to police arrival, authorities said.

No injuries were reported.

Police ask anyone with information to call 302-736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delaware.crimestoppersweb.com. A cash reward is possible for information leading to an arrest.
