The Pitch Across Maryland Tour’s “Pitch Bus” will be arriving to Salisbury’s downtown on Monday, Sept. 15 from noon to 2 p.m. in front of the Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce.

This is the third year the Pitch Bus will be in the area.

The Pitch Tour is a program of Startup Maryland, a regional initiative launched out of the Startup America Partnership. The Pitch Across Maryland 19-day bus tour promotes and celebrates Maryland’s prominence in the area of entrepreneurship.

Entrepreneurs climb onto the bus and pitch their idea/business in the mobile UpStart Show video studio. Videos are uploaded to YouTube and then open to public viewing/voting. Last year there were more than 150 pitches.

The public can take a tour of the bus and meet competing entrepreneurs.

During the bus’ stop downtown, Maryland Capital Enterprises will be holding its Entrepreneur of the Year Award Kickoff inside the Chamber. MCE is currently looking for more nominees for their annual award presented at their November “Entrepreneur of the Year” Award Banquet.

Guests will learn about the award criteria while networking and enjoying light refreshments. The award nomination form can be found on www.marylandcapital.org, then by clicking on the Entrepreneur logo.

The partners for this year’s events are Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce, Salisbury-Wicomico Economic Development, Maryland Capital Enterprises, BEACON, the Perdue School of Business, Wicomico County, the Wicomico County Public Library, the Small Business Development Center and the City of Salisbury.
