Weather permitting, it should be another busy weekend in the local high school and college football world.

Smyrna High hosts Sussex Central on Friday in another showdown that could end up having something to say about this year's Class 3A, District II title.

On Saturday, Caesar Rodney is going to try to beat rival Dover for the first time in five seasons while Delaware and Delaware State are both home.

Friday’s games

Delmar (1-1, 1-2) at Woodbridge (1-0, 1-2), 6 p.m.

Both teams got their first wins last week but only one of them can make it two victories in a row.

AW: Woodbridge, 16-14; TM: Delmar, 21-14; GF: Woodbridge, 20-17.

Sussex Central (0-0, 3-0) at Smyrna (1-0, 2-1), 7 p.m.

Golden Knights get their chance to avenge last year’s 42-point loss to the Eagles in Class 3A showdown.

AW: Central, 21-20; TM: Central, 21-20; GF: Smyrna, 22-14.

Lake Forest (1-0, 3-0) at Sussex Tech (0-2, 1-3), 6 p.m.

The unbeaten Spartans don’t want this to be the week that the Ravens get their season on track.

Laurel (1-0, 3-0) at Polytech (1-1, 1-2), 7 p.m.

Bulldogs haven’t shown any signs of slowing down as they go for their 15th win in the last 17 games.

Indian River (0-1, 1-2) at Seaford (1-0, 4-0), 5 p.m.

IR is coming off its first win but Blue Jays have out-scored their opponents, 166-58, so far this year.

First State Military (0-4) at Christiana (0-3), 7 p.m.

Bulldogs get a chance at their first win against a Viking squad that’s scored only 6 points this year.

AW: FSMA, 34-6; TM: FSMA, 20-12; GF: FSMA, 14-13.

Milford (0-2, 2-2) at Red Lion Christian (1-1, 1-2), 6:45 p.m.

The Buccaneers have lost two straight but Red Lion has gone only 3-11 over the last two seasons.

AW: Milford, 14-7; TM: Red Lion, 17-14; GF: Red Lion, 21-20.

Early College (0-1, 0-3) at Odessa (2-0, 2-1), 7:30 p.m.

The Hornets have to try to slow down an Odessa squad that is starting to gain some momentum.

Saturday‘s games

Caesar Rodney (0-1, 0-4) at Dover (1-0, 3-1), noon

Things don’t get any easier for the Riders against Dover, which is riding a three-game winning streak.

College

Towson (0-1, 2-2) at Delaware (2-0, 4-0), 3:30 p.m.

The Blue Hens are up to No. 6 in FCS which is all the more reason for the Tigers to want to pull the upset.

Robert Morris (0-3) at Delaware State (2-2), 6 p.m.

Hornets want to keep Robert Morris winless as they try to bounce back from a tough loss a week ago.

AW: DelState, 22-7; TM: Robert Morris, 20-14; GF: Robert Morris, 27-18.
