Philip Weinberg, 69
DOVER - Philip Weinberg, of Dover, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2008, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 69. Mr. Weinberg was born June 13, 1939, in Philadelphia, to the late Nathan Weinberg and Clara Schrager Weinberg. He served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Weinberg worked as a mechanic in Philadelphia and then went into sales for Whardon Barnard Automotive Parts. He taught Vo-Tech for a short time. Mr. Weinberg also had worked for Tire King and Pep Boys. He was president for two years of the Dover High School Band Boosters. Mr. Weinberg was extremely involved with his children's activities, sports, then his grandchildren's activities. He went on every trip and all their parades. Mr. Weinberg is survived by his wife of 46 years, Phyllis of Dover; a son, Brad Weinberg and his wife Julie of Potomac, Md.; two daughters, Teena Mendez of Dover, and Ilene Estabrook and her husband Terry of Warren, Minn.; his sister, Rhoda Grady of Lebanon, Pa.; and six grandchildren, Elyse Mendez, Renee Mendez, Ben Estabrook, Zack Weinberg, Emma Weinberg and Tyler Estabrook. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday in Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
