Philip S. Hollinger

MAGNOLIA - Philip S. Hollinger passed away Wednesday, July 27, 2011, in his home. He was 60. Philip was born on Sept. 18, 1950, in Milford, and raised at Homewood near Felton, attended Felton High School but graduated from Lake Forest High School. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Philip worked various positions at A&P and Superfresh. He enjoyed fishing and bowling. Philip never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by everyone. He was a member of the VFW of Milford where he also was a lifetime member of the Military Order of the Cootie, and a member of the American Legion of Harrington. Philip was preceded in death by his father, Oscar E. Hollinger; and two brothers, Bill Hollinger and Larry Hollinger. He is survived by his mother, Doris Hollinger of Dover; two children, Amber Mudri and her husband John of Frederica, and Andrew Hollinger of Wilmington; two brothers, Chuck Hollinger and his wife Devorah of Palm Bay, Fla., and Eddie Hollinger and his wife Deborah of Chaoudrant, La.; one sister, Linda Stubbs and her husband Robert of Felton; two grandchildren, John and Adam; a special niece, Bianca Stubbs of Felton; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A memorial service will be 2 p.m., Sunday, July 31, at the Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may gather one hour earlier. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Kent County S.P.C.A., 32 Shelter Circle, Camden, DE 19934; or the American Legion, 17448 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE 19952.
