Peggy Jean Tremble of Dover, Delaware, passed away Sunday, March 8th, 2026.
Peggy Tremble (Deautch) was born to Dovey May Deautch on March 8, 1935 in Kilgore, Texas. She grew up in the coal mining mountains of Grundy, Virginia.
When her grandmother became ill, she moved to Florida to take care of her. While in Florida she married Armand “Al” Tremble. While married, they received military orders to Delaware, Tripoli, South Carolina and Washington State. They retired in Dover, Delaware where they both spent the rest of their lives.
In her younger years, Peggy enjoyed her camper at the beach and being with her family and friends. Her house was constantly a central hub for meeting up with friends. Peggy made many friends and was loved by all of her customers while working at K-Mart and more recently Kelly’s Hallmark in Dover.
She devoted many years to taking care of her son, Kevin, and loved all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking and made many notable dishes including peanut butter fudge at Christmas and a stellar macaroni and cheese.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Armand “Al” Tremble; her son, Kevin Tremble; her sister, Pearl Rife; and brothers: Dalton Deautch, Ernest Rife, George Rife, Jr. and Clarence Rife.
Peggy is survived by her brothers, William and Cleveland Rife (Judy); her sister, Jo Matney; her children, Richard Tremble and Cynthia MacDonald (Phillip); her grandchildren: Stephanie Weaver (Michael), Nicholas Boggs (Mary Beth), Erica Marks (Robert), Michelle Tremble, Pamela Meissler (Jim), and Kelly Battle; as well as her great-grandchildren: Taylor Shoemaker, Jonathan and Catherine Weaver, Liam, Moira, Philomena, Finnian, Clare, and Becket Boggs, Evan and Ella Marks, Gianna Lopez, Rosalind, Charles, and Henry Meissler, and Natethan and Makenzie.
A viewing will be held 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M., Monday March 16, 2026, at Torbert Funeral Chapel, 1145 E. Lebanon Road, Dover, Delaware.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 12:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Church of the Holy Cross, 631 S. State Street, Dover Delaware.
Interment will be held at Sharon Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Dover, Delaware.
