Pearldean H. Parker, 89 GREENWOOD - Pearldean H. Parker, of Greenwood, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Milford Memorial Hospital after a short illness. She was 89. She was born in Eglon, W.Va., on June 1, 1920, to Alpha C. and Mary M. Hamstead. Pearldean graduated from Greenwood High School in 1939 and Delaware Hospital School of Nursing in Wilmington in 1943. She worked as an operating room nurse for many years before moving to Greenwood in 1971. She then worked at Milford Memorial Hospital until her retirement. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles W. Parker in 1971; and a brother, Norman C. Hamstead in 2004. She is survived by three sisters, Catherine H. Cunnington of Chandler, Ariz., Elouise H. Cunnington of Greenwood; and Eleanor H. Bennett of Bridgeville; a step-daughter, Lou Ann Hopkins of Bridgeville; and a step-son, Jack Parker of Virginia Beach, Va.; six step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Memorial donations may be made to the Division of Family Services, Child Abuse Protection Agency, 546 S. Bedford Street, Georgetown, DE 19947. Arrangements by Fleischauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.
