Pauline Dill Cohey, 92

CHESTERTOWN, Md. - Pauline Dill Cohey of Chestertown, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2008, in Corsica Hills Nursing Home in Centreville. She was 92. Pauline D. Cohey was born May 28, 1916, in Centreville, the daughter of the late William Dill and Della "Lister". Mrs. Cohey was part owner and operator of Bennett and Cohey Salvage Yard in Chestertown, with her late husband, Charles "Buddy" Cohey. Mrs. Cohey was a member of the American Legion Post 36 in Chestertown. She loved to bowl on the league and the Kent and Queen Anne's Bowling Alley. She also enjoyed cooking and gardening. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Hilda Denny, Margaret Emerson, Sadi Dawkins; and one brother, William (Buck) Dill. She is survived by two nieces, Shirley Dixon of Hartley, Del., and Sarah Jane Landwehr of Bay City, Mich.; and two nephews, Eddie Emerson of Church Hill and Billy Emerson of Washington State. Services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 130 Speer Road Chestertown, where friends and family may call one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Chester Cemetery in Chestertown. Online condolences may be made at www.fhnfuneralhome.com.
