HARTLY - Paula J. Morgan, of Hartly died Thursday May 19, 2011 at home surrounded by her family. Paula was born Sept. 8, 1959 in Dover, to the late Wilbur Scrutchfield and Harriet Nicholson Scrutchfield. Paula graduated from Del-Tech in 1979, and worked as a dental hygienist for several area dentists before working for Department of Public Health. Paula enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going out to dinner, flower gardening reading, and spending time at the beach. She was a member of the Hartly United Methodist Church and once served as the Sunday School Superintendant. She was also a member of the American Dental Hygienists' Association. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step father, William "Reds" Mabrey. She is survived by her husband of two years, Ernie Morgan of Hartly; son, Daniel Albanese and his wife Malinda "Mindy" of Felton; daughters, Tammy Subrick and her husband Bill of Milton, Kimberly Thomas and her husband Brian of Queen Creek, Ariz.; brothers, Jerry Charles, his wife Betty Jo and family, of Woodside, Jimmy Charles, his wife Elaine and family of Smyrna, and Kevin Charles, his wife Sharon and family of Dover; sister, Pam Nichols, her husband Michael and family of Felton; grandchildren, Cecilia Albanese, Kara Subrick and Asher Thomas; and her little dog Sinnamon, who she loved so much. Memorial services will be held 7:30 p.m. Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10). Friends may call from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Interment will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 27, 2011, at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, 2928 Sharon Hill Road, Dover, DE. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 702 B Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19805. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook signed at torbertfuneral.com.
