Faircloth, 68 BERLIN, MD - Paula Hynson Faircloth, of Berlin, Md. passed away on Saturday, Jan. 10, 2015 at the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford, Del. Mrs. Faircloth was born in Cambridge, Md., the daughter of the late Paul and Rebecca (Brooks) Hynson. She was a 1964 graduate of Wicomico High School in Salisbury, Md. Paula worked for 30 years for the State of Delaware before retiring in Aug. 2000. At that time, she was the Human Resources Director for the Department of Health and Social Services. After retirement, Paula and her husband moved permanently to their beach home near Berlin, Md. and began their second career of babysitting their grandchildren. Paula adored her four grandchildren and was an enthusiastic supporter at their athletic events. Paula and her husband enjoyed traveling and did so extensively in North America, South America, Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe and the Caribbean. Her most recent trip was to Burma in November. Throughout the summer, Paula was known for the profusion of flowers in her garden. She also enjoyed reading and volunteering for the Maryland Coastal Bays Program. She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Clifford Wayne Faircloth; two sons, William Medford and his wife Marcy, Kristoffer Medford and his wife Andrea; one step-son, Matthew Faircloth and his wife, Tara; one sister, Brenda Hanes-Ham; one brother, Scott Hynson, and his wife, Maria; and four wonderful grandchildren; Kristoffer, Rylie, Braxton, and Skylar. A Celebration of Paula's Life will be held on Jan. 31, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. at Bluecoast Seafood Grill in Bethany, DE.
