Paul Eugene Winters, 66

HARTLY - Paul Eugene Winters, of Hartly, passed away Monday, Jan. 12, 2009, in his home with his loving wife and family by his side. He was 66. Paul was born on Jan. 7, 1943, in Martinsburg, W.Va., son of the late Edwin and Julia (Taddeo) Winters. Early in his working career, he was a member of the Teamsters working as a truck driver. He more recently worked as a security guard for Wesley College and Bayhealth, Dover until his retirement. Paul enjoyed shooting pool, hunting, fishing, nature, his yard, feeding birds and watching football on Sundays. He was an avid Eagles fan. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Winters; a son, Paul E. Winters III of Magnolia; daughter-in-law, Joanne Winters of Camden; stepdaughter, Crystal N. Cassese and her husband Gerard of Lewes; a brother, Charles Zepp and his wife Cheryl of Martinsburg, W.Va.; a sister, Joan Winters of Harpers Ferry, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Savannah and Christopher Winters of Camden, Carly, Joey, Garrett and Gerard Cassese of Lewes; a God-daughter, Danielle Yoder and her sister Summer of Hartly; special friends and neighbors, Ervin Yoder and his wife Mary of Hartly; four step children, Susan, Stephen, Jimmy and Darrell; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and many supportive friends and his special dog, Lucky. Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call two hours earlier. Burial will follow in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to Beacon Country Church, c/o Pastor Troy Dennis, 597 Andrews Lake Rd., Felton, DE 19943.
