Paul Bacino beloved father of Kimberly and Brian Bacino, devoted grandfather of Isabella and Sabina Bacino, died in Dover, Del. on 11/16/21. He was attended by family and friends.
Born February 6, 1942 in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania to Eigel and Pia Bacino, Paul graduated from Salesianum High School in Wilmington, Del. where he excelled academically and played football. He earned a bachelor's degree in Finance from Drexel University in Philadelphia. Upon graduation, Paul was hired as a financial analyst and futures trader for General Foods in Dover, Del., where he worked for 28 years before becoming President of United Cocoa. He resided in Dover, where he raised his family, for 58 years.
Paul loved boating on the Chesapeake and Delaware Bay, fishing, and attending his children's and grandchildren's sporting events. He also coached three historic Championship runs through the Dover Little League ranks spanning Pee Wee to Senior divisions. And according to one unnamed cursing golfer in the Maple Dale parking lot, Paul was alleged to be a sandbagger on the golf course. He was indeed clutch under pressure.
He was a devoted supporter, member, volunteer and patron of the Dover Elks Lodge and Del Vets, managing popular sports- related community events, and serving as Treasurer.
He is survived by his two children, Kimberly and Brian, his grandchildren, Isabella and Sabina, his ex -wife Audrey French Bacino, his long-time companion, Betty Anne Hutchins, his older brother Bob Bacino (Joy Bacino) and predeceased by his younger brother, Dr. Stephen Bacino (Cheri Bacino), daughter-in-law Lisa Galante Bacino, Kevin Thorson, predeceased by sister-in-law Susan French Collins Perri, brothers-in-law Sam and Dan French, Betty Anne's children: Kim Rogers and predeceased by her son Kenny Hutchins, nephews Robert Bacino, Kevin Collins, JD Hutton, Ian Hutton and nieces Lisa Bacino Meyers, Karen Bacino Reed, Bernadette Bacino, Renee Bacino, Jessica Perri, Jennifer Jensen, Amanda French, and Ardrianna French. And many cousins and friends of Paul.
For those who knew Paul well it will be of little to no surprise that he requested that no public ceremony take place. But personal tributes and toasts are welcome wherever you may be. At 5 pm, wherever you are, raise a glass to Paul Bacino, a modest man with a warm sense of humor and greatness within. Godspeed, Paul. You will be missed.
In lieu, of flowers the family requests donations be made in Paul's name to the Delaware Veterans Post #2, 720 Pear St., Dover, DE 19904.
