DOVER - Patricia "Anne" Stegall, 76, of Naples, Fla., and Dover, passed away on Oct. 17, 2009, after a long illness surrounded by her family. Anne was born April 11, 1933, in Springfield, Mass., to Raymond Harvey and Estelle (nee Poulin) Williams. She was predeceased by her parents, two brothers and her sister. She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, Ronald; her five daughters, Pamela (Paul), Susan (John), Elaine, Diane, and Amy (Jim); two grandchildren, Gage, and Lindsey; two great-grandchildren, three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews. Anne lived all over the world with her USAF pilot husband. She was adept at packing up the family, including cats, dogs and the family horse and moving to a new location. Anne made many friends in her travels. Charity and volunteering were an important aspect in her life while still devoting time to raising 5 lively girls. Politics were also a passion, both local and national and she was a lifelong Republican. She taught home economics while living in Bermuda. Anne was a fabulous seamstress and knitter as well as an avid gardener. Anne made traditional smock dresses and knitwear for family, friends and charity. She donated her work to children in Immokalee, an orphanage in Nicaragua and to victims of Hurricane Katrina in Mississippi. The family settled in Dover where Anne was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church, where she worked on various projects including "Adopt a Family." Anne was a Licensed Interior Designer, Realtor and President of Stegall Homes, Inc. She was active in Delaware Hospice and The American Red Cross. Anne was recognized for her volunteer work over the years including special recognition from Dover AFB for her work during Desert Storm. Memorial services will be 11 a.m., Saturday Aug. 28, 2010, at Christ Episcopal Church, 501 S. State Street, Dover. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to The Humane Society, The American Red Cross, or Vitas Hospice in Naples. Letters of condolence may be sent and guestbook signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
