Paris Mills Sharp, 90

MILFORD - Paris Mills Sharp, of Milford, passed away Friday, Feb. 27, 2009, in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital. He was 90. Mr. Sharp was born on Aug. 20, 1918, in Cedar Neck, son of the late William G. and Ella (Mills) Sharp. He was a well known independent Cedar Neck grain farmer before taking employment in maintenance with the Milford School District from where he retired. Paris was an antique tractor and farm equipment enthusiast. He was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Emory Sharp in 1976; a brother, W. Painter Sharp; and a sister, Margaret Downham. He is survived by three daughters, Lanna Darline Sharp of Fair Oaks Ranch, Texas, Jan Ella Sharp of Winchester, Va., and Lisa Marie Sharp of San Antonio, Texas; a son, Dr. Richard Paris Sharp of Boerne, Texas; a sister, Roslyn "Sharpy" McFaul of Felton; and three grandchildren, Kenzy Kay Sharp, Haley Marie Sharp, and Sidney Paris Sharp. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Avenue, Milford. Mr. Sharp requested no viewing at his death but the family will greet friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held in the Milford Community Cemetery located on Route 113. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Avenue United Methodist Church, 20 N. Church Street, Milford, DE 19963.
