659 PM EDT Fri Jul 3 2026

...THE SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING FOR SOUTHEASTERN CARBON COUNTY IS

CANCELLED...

The storms which prompted the warning have moved out of the warned

area. Therefore, the warning has been cancelled.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1100 PM EDT for

eastern Pennsylvania.

...A SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 730 PM EDT

FOR NORTHEASTERN BERKS...LEHIGH AND SOUTHWESTERN NORTHAMPTON

COUNTIES...

At 658 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line

extending from near Northampton to near Lenhartsville to Hamburg,

moving southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. These storms have had a history of wind

damage in Carbon and Schuylkill counties.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Damage to roofs, siding, trees, and power lines is

possible.

Locations impacted include...

Allentown, Easton, Bethlehem, Forks, Northampton, Wilson, Nazareth,

Kutztown, Hamburg, Slatington, Fleetwood, Bath, Walnutport, Topton,

Shoemakersville, Steuben, Lyons, Lenhartsville, Neffs, and

Coffeetown.

This includes the following highways...

Northeast Extension between mile markers 54 and 70.

Interstate 78 in Pennsylvania between mile markers 26 and 58.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a

building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.

Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading

killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to

be struck by lightning.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for...

Central Mercer County in northwestern Pennsylvania...

* Until 745 PM EDT.

* At 659 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Hermitage,

moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

* Locations impacted include...

Hermitage, Sharon, Sharpsville, Farrell, Mercer, Stoneboro, West

Middlesex, Clark, Wheatland, Fredonia and Jackson Center.

Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from

windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly NJ has issued a

Northern Hunterdon County in northwestern New Jersey...

Morris County in northern New Jersey...

Sussex County in northwestern New Jersey...

Warren County in northwestern New Jersey...

Northwestern Somerset County in northern New Jersey...

Northeastern Northampton County in eastern Pennsylvania...

* At 703 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line

extending from Pellettown to Blairstown to near Belfast, moving

southeast at 60 mph.

HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to

mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

Easton, Morristown, Newton, Bridgewater, Dover, Madison, Hopatcong,

Florham Park, East Hanover, Lincoln Park, Kinnelon, Hackettstown,

Chatham, Boonton, Butler, Wharton, Washington, Rockaway,

Blairstown, and Nazareth.

Interstate 78 in New Jersey between mile markers 4 and 37.

Interstate 80 in New Jersey between mile markers 2 and 49.

Interstate 287 in New Jersey between mile markers 18 and 54.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to

flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
