CHESWOLD - Otis Joseph King Sr. passed away in his home Monday, Aug. 29. He was born June 13, 1938, to Ottis and Nora King in Georgetown. He was 73. Otis proudly served his country in the Army National Guard; from his experiences there, he was able to develop a career in Security. Eventually, he used the skills that he acquired there to become a private detective. Otis enjoyed spending time as an Elvis Presley impersonator; he would often visit various nursing homes, and perform for the residents. He was also very proud of his Native American heritage. The happiest time in his life came when he began rebuilding a relationship with his children. His family meant the world to him, and the reunion with them helped him to heal his soul. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his two sisters, LaTricia King and Shirley King. He is survived by his children, Nora Jane Johnson and her husband Bill of Harrington, Otis Joseph King Jr. and his wife Carol of Smyrna, Cheryl Ann Miller of Hamilton, Miss., Sandra Rice-Liebel and her husband Mark of Dover, Keith Wayne King and his wife Pam of Greenwood, Paula Renee' Perez and her husband Garci of Kissimmee, Fla. He also leaves to mourn his memory his brothers, Vyrel King and Gary King; and his sister, Barbara Colvin. He will never be forgotten by his 15 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren. Otis will be remembered by a host of family and friends. His light will forever shine in their hearts, and his love will never fade. A memorial service will be held Thursday, Sept. 8, at Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, from 6 to 7 p.m. Services will begin at 7 p.m. Friends are cordially invited to attend. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
