WILMINGTON — As hot temperatures and humidity continue today in Delaware, the U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration reminds area employers to protect their workers from heat illness.
OSHA’s message to employers and workers is simple: Water. Rest. Shade. Employers should encourage workers to drink water every 15 minutes, and take frequent rest breaks in shaded areas.
Employers and workers can also use the free heat safety app developed by OSHA and the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health to plan outdoor work activities based on how hot it feels throughout the day.
