As a taxpayer and Citizen of Dover, I am asking that the City of Dover disclose the findings and relevant supporting documentation from an independent investigation conducted by 21st Century Police Solutions regarding [Controversy between Police Chief Thomas Johnson, Mayor Robin Christensen and the FOP Lodge #15] in particular the allegations of the Chief of Police using his department-issued city vehicle for personal use, vote of no confidence in the police chief’s leadership taken by the FOP membership, a created nonprofit organization by the Chief to receive funds outside of the city budget and allegations of Mayor Robin Christensen and Chief Johnson asking the FOP leadership to attack and destroy the reputations of city councilmen Roy Sudler and Brian Lewis for expressing their opinion about the police leadership during city council meetings.
As a taxpayer and citizen, I believe access to this information is essential for transparency, accountability, and informed decision-making and should be disseminated for public view. I respectfully request that the disclosed materials include:
1. A summary of the investigation’s scope and methodology.
2. The final report or executive summary of findings.
3. Any recommendations or corrective actions identified.
According to previous media publications this investigation cost $50,000 of taxpayer dollars.
Therefore the public should be notified of the results and findings.
