ASHEBORO, N.C. - Mrs. Ora Glenn Jones, wife of Col. Joseph L. Jones, passed away on Dec. 11, 2011, at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro, N.C. Born in Talladega County, Ala., she was the daughter of the late Charlie Glenn and Ora McCutcheon Glenn. She was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters. Mrs. Jones graduated from Drummond-Frazier Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse. She practiced nursing as a licensed RN in Alabama, Louisiana, Colorado and Delaware. She was a loving and supportive wife, a devoted and nurturing mother, and a proud grandmother and great grandmother. Mrs. Jones was an "Air Force" wife who created a home for her family in 15 different locations throughout her life. Most importantly, she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, practiced her faith daily, and was an active member and worker in numerous Baptist churches throughout her life. In addition to her devoted husband, Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Glenda Case and her husband Willie of Delaware, and Susan West and her husband Eddie of Asheboro; a son, David Jones and his wife Roxanne of South Carolina; and a sister-in-law, Kate McGee of Charlotte. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at Pugh Funeral Home. Interment will follow at New Hope Memorial Gardens, with Pastor Gene Booker officiating. Pastor Booker and his wife were dear friends of Ora. In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions can be made to one of Mrs. Jones' favorite ministries: RBC Ministries, PO Box 307, Grand Rapids, MI 49501-0307. The family would like to offer special thanks to Dr. John F. Redding and to the nurses and staff of floor two at Randolph Hospital for their loving care of Mrs. Jones. Please share remembrances and condolences at www.pughfuneralhome.com.
