One dead in house trailer fire in Laurel

By LAUREL — One person died in a residential trailer fire Sunday, according to the State Fire Marshal’s office.
Spokesman Michael Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly before noon, occurred in the 17000 block of Phillips Hill Road, east of East Trap Pond Road. Firefighters arrived on the scene with flames engulfing the trailer and discovered a deceased individual inside.
There were no other reported injuries, Mr. Chionchio said, and the investigation into the origin and cause is ongoing.
Damage is estimated at $50,000, he added.
