REHOBOTH BEACH — People for Offshore Wind Energy Resources Delaware will host an Offshore Wind and Whales Symposium from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Rehoboth Beach Public Library.

The panel of speakers will offer insight into how the changing landscape of offshore wind considers wildlife conservation, combating an energy industry whose decisions create ecological harm.

Marc Weiss, Rehoboth Beach resident and CEO of Global Urban Development, will be the moderator.

Panelists include:

  • Kris Ohleth, executive director of Special Initiative on Offshore Wind.
  • Amber Hewett, director of offshore wind energy for the National Wildlife Federation.
  • Mike Dunmyer, Delaware development manager for US Wind.

Registration, while not required, is appreciated via tinyurl.com/mtuj3ts5.

The format will be presentations from each panelist, followed by questions from the audience. Attendees will be asked to fill out a form indicating whether any information came to light during the evening and/or if their views have been altered by the information presented.

Refreshments will be provided. This event is sponsored by Energize Delaware.
