HARRINGTON - Norris F. Wooters, of Harrington, passed away Thursday, Aug. 20, 2009, after a short illness. He was 79. Mr. Wooters was born March 19, 1930, the son of the late Ira T. and Ida Mae (Tharp) Wooters. Before retiring from Kent Soil and Water Conservation in 1978, Norris worked for George & Lynch Construction and All American Engineering. Norris had served on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Harrington. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwood Wooters and Edward Wooters; and three sisters, Ada Wagemaker, Edna Baker and Anna Kane. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Wooters; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Sharon Wooters; and his grandchildren, Jaclyn, Caitlin and Fielding Wooters. Graveside services were 3 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, at Hollywood Cemetery, Milford-Harrington Hwy., Harrington. Arrangements by McKnatt, Carpenter & Baker Funeral Home, Harrington.
