Norman Carroll Jackson, 61 BARCLAY, Md. - Norman Carroll Jackson, 61, of Barclay, died June 18, 2010, in Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. Norman was born on April 3, 1949, in Chestertown, son of the late Norman Louis Jackson and Anna Marie Skalski Jackson. He was a lifetime resident of Queen Anne's where he attended Sudlersville Elementary School and was a graduate of Queen Anne's High School, Class of 1968. Norman has lived and worked on his farm in Barclay his entire life. He also worked for George & Lynch as a heavy equipment mechanic; custom farmed, owned 'Blockman' masonry business, and most recently worked for the Town of Chestertown as a mechanic and mason where he was a valuable employee with much expertise. Not limited to his masonry and mechanic skills, he was heavily relied upon. Norman was well known for his Historical Preservation on Chestertown Streets and the Waterfront, and also on Dudley Chapel in Sudlersville. He was an avid hunter, a lifetime member of the NRA and was Maryland State Champion in Trap Shooting. He loved country music and dancing. Norman never met a stranger and enjoyed helping everyone. He is survived by his son, James Jackson and his wife Jocelyn of Barclay; an adopted son, Michael Lee Jackson and his wife Jody of Henderson; a sister, Suzanne Jackson of Barclay, a niece Mi'Mitti Sharp of Crumpton; a nephew, William Thomas and his wife Lynda of Centreville; the mother of his sons, Patsy Jean Jackson; and his fiancée, Veronica Ellis. A Celebration of Norman's life will be held on Saturday, July 3, at 3 p.m. in Crumpton Fire Hall, Crumpton. Memorials may be offered to Crumpton Vol Fire Dept., P.O. Box 68, Crumpton, MD 21628.
