Nora Roxie Johnson, 83

SUDLERSVILLE, Md. - Nora Roxie Johnson, of Sudlersville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 27, 2008, at Chester River Hospital Center, Chestertown. She was 83.

Ms. Johnson was born April 1, 1925, in Dry Branch, W.Va., daughter of the late Thomas R. and Laura Belle (Rowe) Mullins.

She moved to the Eastern Shore in 1965 and lived in Templeville and Sudlersville.

Ms. Johnson was a homemaker and a loving mother and grandmother.

She was faithful to her church, loved to travel and spend time in the mountains, enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and took pleasure in gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Johnson; brother, Andy Mullins; and sister, Goldie Saxton.

She is survived by four children, Thomas R. Johnson and his wife Mary of Waynesboro, Va., Edna J. Garlic and her husband Roscoe of Marydel, James R. Johnson and his wife Debbie of Sudlersville and Claude Johnson Jr. and his wife Penny of Stuarts Draft, Va.; seven siblings, the Rev. Ulis Mullins, Jesse Mullins, Lonnie Mullins and Steve Mullins, all of Raysal, W.Va., Elva Malone of Pigeon Forge, Tenn., Tommy Dixie Christian of Sevierville, Tenn., and Janie Arrington of White Pine, Tenn.; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call Thursday evening from 6 to 8 in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena.

Burial will be Saturday in Raysal.
