...Observed flooding changed to Minor severity and increased in
duration for the following rivers in New Jersey...
Saddle River near Lodi affecting Bergen County.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.

The next statement will be issued this evening at 700 PM EDT.

* WHERE...Saddle River near Lodi.
* WHEN...Until this evening.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 3:30 PM EDT Sunday the stage was 6.6 feet.
- Bankfull stage is 5.0 feet.
- Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending
at 3:30 PM EDT Sunday was 6.8 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage this
evening and continue falling to 2.4 feet early Wednesday
afternoon.
- Flood stage is 5.5 feet.
- Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 6.6
feet on 06/19/1972.
