Nicholas 'Nick' Micale, 22
DOVER - Nicholas "Nick" Micale, lost his life Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008, as he attempted to save his friend after a cliff dive at Pace Bend Park near Austin, Texas. Nick and his best friend Jamal, both lost their lives. He was 22. Nick was born in Dover, in 1986. He was a full time student at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. His field of study was nutrition. Nick was an adventurer and athlete. He enjoyed weight lifting, running and football. He also enjoyed philosophy and according to friends was a good counselor. He was a published poet and enjoyed sketching and painting. His friends feel he opened their worlds to adventures and places they would have never seen or done before, and they are thankful for that. Nick is preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Rosali Micale; maternal grandfather, Mel Case; step-grandparents, Richard Scouten and Evelyn Case; uncles, Frank Micale Jr., and Bruce Case; as well as his aunt, Cheryl Case. Nick did not have any brothers or sisters. He is survived by his parents, Thomas and Kathy Micale; maternal grandmother, Barbara Scouten; paternal grandfather, Frank Micale, all of Dover; and cousins Kevin Case, Michael Greenage, and Lauren and Chris Micale, all of Delaware. Nick is also survived by the best friends a man could have; these are Billy Lewis (his college roommate), and Kendall Davis. Nick had many other great friends and "family" in Texas.
