Nellie R. Lewis Beard

SEAFORD - Nellie R. Lewis Beard passed away on Friday, June 20, 2014 at, Seaford Center-Genesis Eldercare. She was born in Lewes on Sept. 10, 1918, daughter of the late Charles E. Johnson and Nellie May Cohee. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Alton C. Lewis who passed on Sept. 15, 1981 and her second husband, Carroll F. Beard who passed on April 2, 1994; three brothers, Charles E Johnson, Jr., William Johnson and Arthur Johnson; and three sisters, Emily Ewing, Evelyn Downes, and Vera Thomas. Mrs. Beard had traveled world wide with her first husband who was in the USAF. Also, for many years she had been involved with the Seaford Elks Club. She dearly loved being around children and sorely missed her precious Shih Tzu "TINY". Her immediate survivors are many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Hardesty Chapel, 202 Laws Street, Bridgeville, DE., where friends may call one hour prior to services.
