Nellie Akucewicz, 82
HOUSTON - Nellie Akucewicz, 82, of Houston, formerly of Cumberland, R.I., died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009, at Bay health Center Milford. She is the daughter of the late Sam Gorelko and Anna Micolition Gorelko. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Benjamin John Akucewicz and son, Daniel Akucewicz. Mrs Akucewicz worked in the Textile Mill in Rhode Island and for Hasboro Toys as a machine operator. She attended the Milford 1st Baptist Church. She is survived by a son, John B. Akucewicz and his wife Suzanne of Miami, Fla.; two daughters, Karen M. Akucewicz of Apopka, Fla., and Debra A. Massotti and husband Leonard of Houston; and three sisters, Jenny and husband Mike Zosa of Johnston, R.I., Stella Pauley of Warwick, R.I., and Vera Johnson of Coventry, R.I.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Services were noon Wednesday, Aug. 26, in the Chapel of Berry Short Funeral Home, 119 NW Front Street, Milford. Interment will be Barratts Chapel Cemetery, Frederica. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Milford 1st Baptist Church Christian School, 6062 Old Shawnee Road, Milford, DE 19963.
