Naomi Smith Morris

CORNWALL, Pa. - Naomi Smith Morris, 100, passed away on Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, in Lebanon. Mrs. Morris was born on Oct. 14, 1909, in Henderson, Caroline County, Md., to the late Isaac Newton Smith and Mary Ellen Melvin Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George E. Morris, Sr. in 1991; her daughter, Emily "Jean" Morris Thompson in 2009; her older sister, Grace (Smith) Pritchett; and brother, Isaac Melvin Smith. She is survived by two sons, George E. Morris, Jr. and his wife "Molly" of Crescent City, Fla., and Robert S. Morris and his wife, Lee, of Columbia, S.C. Mrs. Morris is also survived by five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Mrs. Morris graduated from Salisbury State University in 1928 with a teaching degree. She and her husband later moved to Maytown. She resided at Cornwall Manor in Cornwall, for the last 23 years where she shared many interests with her friends and family. A graveside service for Naomi Smith Morris will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Camden, DE on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010 at 11 a.m. Arrangements are by Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming.
