DOVER, DE - Nancy L. Murray died April 28, 2024.
Nancy was born in Dover, Delaware on April 11, 1934 to Stanley and Helen Scarborough in Kent General Hospital, Dover, DE.
Nancy graduated from Dover High School in 1952. Nancy continued her education at Goldey Beacom College graduating with a degree in business.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Helen Scarborough; her son, Thomas W. Murray III; her daughter, Molly JoeAnn Murray; her husband, Tom; and her brother, Bill Scarborough.
Nancy married the love of her life, Thomas W. Murray, April 10, 1953.They began their life together in Dover, Delaware. Nancy and Tom had three children; Tommy, Molly, and John. Nancy was the secretary and Tom's "right hand" woman for the family owned business TNJ Murray Worldwide Service, Inc. for over 40 years.
Nancy was a very devoted member of the Presbyterian Church of Dover in which she became a member of in 1957. She served as a Deacon in the church from 2006-2008 and again 2011-2015. She was a passionate member of the cemetery committee for many years and served as "chair" for over a decade.
Nancy loved to travel. She traveled extensively with her husband Tom for business and pleasure, quite often fishing for billfish.
Nancy had a fondness for a great pair of stylish shoes, dining out, reading, and watching the wildlife in her backyard.
Nancy is survived by her loving son, John S. Murray and his wife Debora.
A Celebration of Nancy's life will be held Friday, May 10th at the Presbyterian Church of Dover. Viewing will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the church service will begin at 1:00 with burial to follow.
