NAMI Delaware hopes to raise $80k with virtual walk

Posted

WILMINGTON — Every year, NAMI Delaware brings together hundreds of people to raise mental health awareness and funds through NAMIWalks Delaware. This year due to COVID-19, NAMI will continue the virtual NAMIWalks event.

NAMIWalks Your Way: A Day of Hope steps off on Saturday, May 22.
Anyone can participate in NAMIWalks Your Way by registering for the event and picking an activity of their choice on May 22.

Whether it is walking at a local park with friends and family, practicing yoga, baking or anything else that benefits mental health, the goal is to raise awareness in every Delaware community and make it a day focused on mental health and spreading hope.

Participants will share their activities on social media and follow NAMI Delaware’s social media posts, which will include a live stream from Delaware Sen. Sarah McBride, personal stories of recovery, and warm-up activities.

NAMIWalks is NAMI Delaware’s largest fundraising event. Last year the organization surpassed its goal of $75,000 and this year aims to raise $80,000 this year.
