Myrtle Mary Ney

(Umbenhauer) Ney, 92 RIVERVIEW PARK, Pa. - Myrtle Mary (Umbenhauer) Ney, 92, formerly of Riverview Park, died Jan. 27, 2012, in Frey Village, Middletown, Dauphin County. She was the wife of Edward A. Ney who died Aug. 1, 1976. Born March 11, 1920, in Reading, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Ockenlander) Umbernhauer. Myrtle was a 1937 graduate of Shillington High School and then went on to receive a nursing degree. She was employed as a Registered Nurse with Dr. David Hoffman, OB/GYN, at Reading Hospital for 12 1/2 years, retiring in 1980. Myrtle was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, Laureldale. Surviving are two children, Patricia M. (Ney), wife of Emmett Venett of Milford, Del., and David E., husband of Marilyn A. (Miller) Ney of Harrisburg. Other survivors include four grandchildren, Stacy V., wife of Stephen Wright, Steven E., husband of Ashley Venett, Joshua E., husband of Gina Ney, and Emilie A. Ney; and a great-grandson, Brian Wright. Also surviving is a brother, Elmer R. Umbenhauer of Cape May Court House, N.J. Myrtle was predeceased by two brothers, Harry Umbenhauer and Albert W. Umbehauer. Services will be Saturday at 1 p.m. in Walter R. Christ Funeral Home, Inc., 3300 Kutztown Road, Laureldale. A visitation will be one hour prior to services in the funeral home. Burial will be in Good Shepherd Cemetery, Muhlenberg Township. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Calvary Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 1009 Elizabeth Avenue, Laureldale, PA 19605.
