Monahan: Presidential debates are ‘crucial, determining factors’

Posted

American citizens should be able to listen to at least one presidential debate (though three past presidential debates have been known to have occurred in past election years).

Apparently, the problem with the absence of our most needed debates is our current President Joe Biden, who does not want to debate former President Donald Trump on stage for all of America to hear the interaction. Debate is a critical, determining factor for us all to determine who will be the most qualified to ensure America’s successful future. Joe Biden believes his decline to debate will prove to be a nonessential event, as Trump’s goal is to discuss unworthy attempts to exchange very important unresolved issues. Biden does not want to enter that arena, where the discussions and questions will not be beneficial to him.

The so-called State of the Union address was written in a most positive manner so that Biden’s entire term thus far looks like a major success for him and the overall Democratic involvement. Biden’s view in his dream world is not the nightmare all Americans endure on a daily basis. Biden’s grand recollection of America’s dream world includes safety from crime and higher salary increases, excellent employment opportunities and climate control programs, but, unfortunately, he has never effectively addressed the overwhelming border disaster. The Democrats blame the Republicans for not endorsing their border bill that they indicate should resolve the major immigration issues. This border bill is not as effective as the Democrats’ word indicates. Quite frankly, one executive order to shut down our Southern border can be issued by Biden, but he evades the executive order. Sadly, within the first two days of his presidency, he issued an executive order to cancel all prior Trump protective rulings, allowing the current border disaster!

The real world in America is most troubling. Crime may be recorded in the downward trend, but the fear for the average American is that unlawful attackers are roaming the streets looking for vulnerable victims. They fearlessly attack law enforcement officers, aware that the release programs benefit the perpetrators. Recently, Biden has condemned state government leaders, like Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, who issued his state ruling that would protect Texas itself, as the federal government has failed to deter or eliminate the ongoing influx of unknown migrants and unlawful immigrants, who are potentially dangerous.

With all the difficult, unanswered American problem areas, we should be able to determine for ourselves who we believe will be the best president in 2024, someone who will protect our national security and solve the criminal issues that have so far benefited the unlawful perpetrators.

May God always bless the United States of America!
