Mollie Cantrell Brown-Rust passed away on May 12, 2025, in Tavares, FL. She was born in Salemburg, NC, the daughter of Floyd S. and Lillian D. Cantrell. She graduated from Seaford High School in Delaware and Salisbury State Teachers College in Maryland and taught for 37 years in the Milford School District. She was a member of the Milford Museum where she gave her scrapbook and ladybug costume that her 2nd grade class used while campaigning for the Ladybug as the State Bug of Delaware in 1974.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd S. and Lillian D. Cantrell of Seaford, a sister, Helen C. Marshall of NC, a brother, Douglas D. Cantrell of MI and her first husband, Earl A. Brown of Milford, DE.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Rust of Tavares, Florida, a daughter, Mollie Brown-Ferrier and grandson, Zachery Ferrier of Winter Haven, Florida, a brother, Floyd S. Cantrell, Jr. of SC, and two sisters-in-law, Jessie Brown and Edna Snowden and several nieces and nephews. In addition, she is survived by her stepson, Thomas Rust, his wife Fay and daughter Melissa and stepdaughter Lynn Dotson, her husband Randall and their children, Jason Dotson and Jennifer Anderson as well as their children.
She will be interred at Odd Fellows Cemetery in Milford, DE at a later time at the convenience of the family.
