Minnie V. Pratt

Minnie V. Pratt, 93

DOVER - Minnie V. Pratt died on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, in Bayhealth Medical Center, Dover. She was 93. Mrs. Pratt was born May 21, 1916, in Marydel, Del., the daughter of the late William M. and Anna Mabrey Johnson. Minnie loved gardening and enjoyed sharing her garden with family and friends. She also enjoyed reading and solving puzzles. She was a member of Downs Chapel Church Ladies Aid. Minnie enjoyed spending time with her family and loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Pratt was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, John D. Pratt; five brothers, Jim, Joe, Brice, Leo and Ray; a sister, Anna; and a grandson, Mickey Pratt Jr. She is survived by a son, Mickey Pratt and his wife Roberta of Clayton; a daughter, Clementine Wootten of Magnolia; a brother, Lester Johnson and his wife Jebba of Clayton; a sister, Hazel Hamilton of Clayton; four grandsons, Julian Pratt and his wife Pamela of Clayton, Doyle Wootten of Magnolia, Dean Wootten and his wife Tina of Felton, and Bobby Snyder of Clayton; five granddaughters, Faye Pleasanton and Cathy Brown, both of Camden, and Kris Campbell and her husband Mike, Rita Fabi and her husband Ronny, and Bobbie Jo Brown and her husband Jason, all of Clayton; 13 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 5, in the Faries Funeral Chapel, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Burial will be in Sudlersville Cemetery in Sudlersville, Md. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to Downs Chapel United Methodist Church in care of Ginger Jones, 6703 Sudlersville Road Marydel, DE 21649.
