Milton Eugene 'Gene' Burditt, 70 FARMINGTON - Milton Eugene "Gene" Burditt, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2010, in Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. He was 70. Mr. Burditt was born in Seminole, Okla., son of the late Milton N. and Alice (Bolin) Burditt. He was employed in the food industry as a meat cutter for 40 years, beginning with A&P, Harris Teeter and lastly with Shoppers Food Warehouse in Glen Burnie, Md., from where he retired in 1995. Mr Burditt was a charter member and active chairman of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 50 in Richmond, Va. and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Gary Burditt; two brothers, Ernest Burditt and Ronnie Burditt; and two sisters, Nadine Lambert and Lue Wood. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Joan L. Burditt; two sons, Barry Scott Carter of Roanoke, Va. and Brian Carter of Lincoln; a daughter, Bren Burditt of Seaford; a brother, J.D. Burditt of Valley Center, Calif.; four sisters, Colleen Mason of Oklahoma, Modene Floyd of Tulsa, Okla., and Connie Raymond and Geraldine Kirby, both of Gordonsville, Texas; and a granddaughter, Amanda C. Carter of Ashburn, Va. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 6, 2010, at Rogers Funeral Home, 301 Lakeview Ave., Milford. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Patriots Way, Millsboro. Burial will follow the service in the adjoining cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to the Dwight Mission, Forward 2000, Route 2, Box 71, Vian, OK 74962.
