Mildred L. Nassner

DENTON, Md. - Mildred L. Nassner, of Denton, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at Homestead Manor Assisted Living of Denton. She was 80 years old. Born in Roanoke, Va, Mrs. Nassner was the daughter of the late Frederick L. Whitaker and Virginia Raine Mills Whitaker. Her first husband, Walter F. Hunter, Jr., died in June of 1979. Her second husband, Anthony F. Nassner, resides at the Delaware Veterans Home in Milford, Del. Mrs. Nassner had been a clerk for many years in the Clerk of the Court office for Prince George's County, Md, retiring in 1978. She loved arts and crafts and her little dogs. After retirement, she moved to Florida and in 2005, moved to Camden–Wyoming, Del. She then moved to the Parkview Apartments in Easton, Md. before moving to Homestead Manor Assisted Living in Denton. Mrs. Nassner is survived by three daughters, Linda L Quible and her husband Paul of West River, Md., Barbara H. Smith and her husband Doug of Denton, and Donna M. Metler and her husband Charles of St. Leonard, Md.; two sisters, Marie Fyle and her husband Al of Fallston, Md., Marian Dearth and her husband Duane of Baltimore, Md., and Charles Whitaker and his wife Debbie of Brooksville, Fla.; four grandchildren, Lisa Quible, David Quible and his wife Thea, Jennifer Curran and her husband Eric, and Justin Smith and his wife Heather; and four great-grandchildren, Amanda and Nicole Curran and Emma and Caroline Quible. A funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 1st, 2012, at the Moore Funeral Home, P.A., 12 S. Second St. in Denton, MD., where friends may call from 6 until 7 prior to the service. A memorial committal service will be held at a later date at the Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, VA.
